Minecraft for free

I have a new game which is fun to play it’s called Minecraft. You can play for a long time as it allows you to save and continue your game for another time.

You can purchase Minecraft or you can play a free version, all you need to do to play is sign up. I like to play it at school in the computer room at lunch time. I recommend the game for children 8 years and older to adults.

The aim of Minecraft is to build houses, villages,  fight zombies, walk around and explore.

On Minecraft you can:

  • make a house with lava surrounding it
  • make an aquarium, without fish
  • fly around
  • put up signs
  • kill zombies
  • grow (spawn) villagers, skeletons, pig zombies
  • and lots more

The thing I like the most about Minecraft is that if you die you can start again from where you were.

By the way thank you very munch for showing me the game Quinn.

What do you think of Minecraft?

Do you have a favourite computer game, if so what is it?

    Dear Jarrod,

I have never tried Minecraft before but lots of my grade fours like it. I enjoyed reading your description to find out a bit more about it.

I don’t play many computer games. Sometimes I play Solitaire, Spider Solitaire, Boggle or Bejewelled on my iPhone. Have you ever played them?

I hope I will see you at the blogging club tomorrow!

    Dear Jarrod,

It is very coincidental that you write about Minecraft as I have been wondering a bit about it myself! Many of the students at our school enjoy Minecraft as well and I was thinking about making it available for our students at lunchtimes as well. Do you think there is anything to learn by playing Minecraft?

I haven’t played computer games in quite a while, although I used to love Sim City and will often dig it out again. I find simulation games interesting as they let you create and develop and can go many ways – much like Minecraft I guess!

    Hi Jarrod,
I am not a Minecraft fan (more of a Playstation guy myself…)
Yet Minecraft is VERY popular at my school where I teach, and lots of kids play it. We started an IT club the other day, and I am thinking of installing a MC server for them to use.
What do you think of this idea?
    Happy gaming,
    Daniel

    Hi Jarrod,
My 10 yo daughter loves Minecraft and she plays with the MassivelyMinecraft.org community – where parents are encouraged to play with their 5-16 yo kids.

I joined it, too, and here is where I blogged about my first experience. I’ve got so much more to learn!!!

Your post above is really good. It shows your enthusiasm for the game. Technically, you’ve incorporated links and videos. Visually, you’ve used bullet points, text highlights and good paragraph breaks.

Good luck on your Minecraft AND blogging journeys.

    Hello Jarrod!

My name is Heather and I am in Dr. Strange’s EDM 310 class at the University of South Alabama. Here is a link to my blog if you want to see what we have been doing in class Heather Weaver’s EDM 310 Class Blog.
I have only been blogging for a few months. Your blog is fantastic! I really like how you have separate pages at the top for people to read about you and your posts.

I must admit I have never even heard of Minecraft for free before and I am not much of a computer gamer myself. However, I do have two boys, 12 and 10, who love their Playstation, Wii, and iPods. When they do play games on the computer it is usually Poptropica or Star Wars Clone Wars. After reading all of the interesting things in your post about the game, I am certainly going to have them try it. They love to see zombies and I am sure they would be most fascinated by the pig zombies.

Thank you for the great information about the game!
    Happy blogging,
    Heather

Hello, Jarrod my name is Kristi L.Jackson. I attend The University of South Alabama, in Mobile, Alabama. My major is elementary education. I am writing you in regards to your wonderful discovery, Minecraft. After reading your blog about this game made me want to download it to my computer, immediately. I also watched a video on you tube about the, ” Official Minecraft for Free Channel”. It really seemed amazing and fun,as well. Furthermore, my favorite feature of the game was if you die, you basically start where you left off, this would indeed make the game quite different and more entertaining. I have a favorite computer game as well, however, it’s not as exciting as Minecraft. It is called Solitaire. Have you ever played Solitaire? I am so happy that I had a chance to read your blog about MInecraft!
    Thanks for your time,
    Kristi L. Jackson

    Hi Jarrod,

We are learning how to write great blog posts and our teacher showed us your blog. Lots of us in our class like playing Minecraft too. We like your blog post because you wrote lots of details. You wrote a lot so we can learn more about Minecraft. We like that you added two pictures to your post. You used a lot of interesting words in your blog which makes it more interesting for us to read. Your first sentence is interesting so it made us want to read more and more.
Did you know that Minecraft is the second most popular game in the world? Do you play servers on Minecraft? Do you play the game on any other device?
